Tulum

Three Maya Worlds (Tulum, Koba, Sak Actun underground river)

Description:

Did you know that the ancient Maya lived in three worlds? In addition to the usual earthly life, each Indian had his own star in the firmament, representing his soul in the world of gods, and carefully preserved by Kukulkan in the Milky Way. And each of them had a double spirit from the underworld of Xibalba, where even the greatest Mayan rulers dared not descend. It was only in the fusion of these two forces that a man was born, made of corn by the gods and sprinkled with their sacred blood.

In the XXI century, all these Mayan worlds can be visited in one day, watching the awakening of terrestrial and marine nature in the picturesque city of Tulum on the Caribbean coast, climbing to the celestial world through the highest pyramid in Yucatan in the city of Koba, and descending into the incredibly beautiful and bizarre world of the underground Sak Actun River. Tulum is one of the late Mayan cities, picturesquely located on a rock on the Caribbean coast. The main port of the peninsula connected all the cities of the Maya civilization located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Moreover, the modern Mexican nation was born in this city, merged from European and Indian blood.

Koba is an archaeological area that has recently been opened to tourists. The largest city in Yucatan, it had close ties with the great Maya state of Tikal, located in present-day Guatemala. The territory of the city of Koba is so large that it is best to travel on vedosipedas or tricycles ("rickshaws" of modern Maya), in order to arrive at the highest pyramid of the peninsula - the 42-meter Nohoch-Mul. Yucatan is famous for its huge underground rivers flowing under the territory of almost the entire peninsula. You will be able to explore one of the largest underground rivers - Sak Actun - naturally decorated with limestone formations, stalactites, stalagmites, columns, etc. The pristine ecosystem of the river is carefully guarded by its caretakers. You will go down to a depth of 20 meters and swim through a section of the cave of incredible beauty.
