The ancient city of El-Tahin
Description:
El Tahin is one of the oldest archaeological sites on our planet. Some sources attribute the date of creation of El Tahin to the first century AD. Lost in the jungle, the ancient city is a masterpiece of Mexican and American architecture.
The city was built by the Totonaki, an ancient Indian people in Mexico. El-Tahin was their administrative and ceremonial center. In the best of times, up to 50,000 people lived in the city. El-Tahin was frequently attacked by hostile tribes, but for six centuries successfully repelled attacks. The city fell into slack around the beginning of the 13th century, when another attack led to a severe fire and the residents of El Tahin were forced to flee their homes. Since then, El-Tahin has been forgotten for centuries.
