Chisinau is a green and multi-layered capital of Moldova, where history and modernity, Soviet architecture and cozy city parks intertwine. The city grew at the crossroads of trade and cultural routes, retaining traces of the XIX and XX centuries, a merchant spirit and a calm provincial atmosphere. Here it is easy to feel the contrast between the bustling avenues and the quiet corners of Codra, which makes Chisinau truly unique for the traveler.
Man-made sights of Chisinau surprise with diversity: the Botanical Garden of the Academy of Sciences with its collections of plants, the Alley of Classics and the central park Stefan cel Mare, the Water Tower and the unusual Wind Tower, the residential complex "Gate of the City" and ancient monuments - the monument to Stefan cel Mare, monuments to Lenin, Kotovsky and Pushkin. In the center stands the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, and in the city there are picturesque church ensembles and the Mazarakiev Church, which tell about the religious and architectural history of the capital.
Natural corners and landscapes around the city are invited for walks and picnics: parks Valya Morilor and Valya Transdafirilore, Arboretum, Alunelul Park and Gidigic Park create green legends of Chisinau. The embankments of Lake Valya Morilor and the river banks of Prut, as well as the picturesque monastic complexes on the rocky banks of the Dniester, such as Tsipova, give impressive views and quiet places for recreation. Codras and monasteries close to the capital, such as Kapriyansky and Khirzheuka, make it possible to combine urban leisure with natural walks.
On our site, all these attractions can be viewed on an interactive map, read short historical references and mark points of interest. Build a itinerary by the hour or by theme – cultural, religious or natural – and get a compact walk plan. Itineraries are easy to adapt to your pace: add facilities, build foot or car paths, and keep a plan for offline use.
You can explore Chisinau on your own, following the embankments and park alleys, or book excursions with local guides who will revive historical facts and prompt the hidden angles of the city. Guides will help to make a personal route, tell about little-known monuments, invite to tasting local wines or a festival of winemakers, introduce you to legends and the life of the districts. In this way, the walk will become a living story about the city and its people.
Come to Chisinau to discover the combination of green areas, ancient temples and monuments, cozy streets and vibrant cultural events. Walk through the parks, visit the monasteries and museums, taste the local cuisine and return home with new impressions - every route in the capital of Moldova is ready to give unexpected discoveries and warm memories.
