Museum of Honey in Kondritz
About the company:
Not far from Chisinau there is a remarkable village of Kondritsa. Here is an interesting monastery and in the full sense of the word unique, the only museum of honey in Europe.
Its creator is a hereditary beekeeper Andrei Zagaryanu. One day he came up with the idea of making his favorite business a national treasure and perpetuating honey. The idea was born more than 20 years ago, and the museum opened in 2000.
In this unique place there is something to see in the fresh air - on the apiary and inside the house. Absolutely everything is devoted to bees – and a huge bee on the wall of the house, and made by the owner of the hive (some of them with faces). Under the roof collected utensils needed on the apiary. Some objects are over 200 years old.
Among the exhibits are unique beehives made from a linden deck, beehives woven from willow rods, barrels for storing honey, cast-iron dumpling with a vat, which were designed to grind sugar (for feeding bees), samovars, books on beekeeping and others. On the shelves are samples of honey and wax candles made according to the master’s personally developed technology.
