Betrayal for good

Description:

In the history of the world there are many people who have played fatal roles for any state.
The history of Moldova is no exception and our tour will tell you about it. And we will talk about a man of Armenian origin, named Emmanuel Mirzoyan, who has long been a subject of Turkish Pasha and served him faithfully. But times change, power changes, and everyone thinks about their fate. So Manuk (a diminutive affectionate treatment, which means “little”), to whom the Turks in honor of respect gave the title of a special person – Bey, led on behalf of the Turks negotiations with Russia regarding the conclusion of a peace treaty between the Ottoman and Russian Empires. This treaty is known in history as the Bucharest Treaty of 1812. After that, Manuk Bey moves with his whole family secretly to the territory of liberated Bessarabia, which was attached to the territory of Russia. Here Mirzoyan buys a manor, builds a winery, churches in Hincesti and Chisinau. In his estate after his premature death lives his family. Now in the hunting lodge that his son built, there is a museum of ethnography and history of the Mirzoyan family. And the estate itself is being restored thanks to the Armenian Diaspora of Moldova, European grants and the Moldovan Government. It is the only castle in Moldova that has survived to this day.
