Hanuman Dhoka Rd, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal
Description:
The temple of the goddess Taleju, built by King Mahendra Malla in 1564, is open to Hindus only once a year during the Dasain Festival.
Taleju Bhavani is a goddess of southern India who became the titular deity and royal goddess of the Malla kings in the fourteenth century. It is widely believed that the kings of Nepal took blessings from this goddess to rule the country. Temples dedicated to this goddess were also built in Patana and Bhaktapur.
The temple was built with a height of more than 35 meters. It stands out in Durbar Square (Royal Square). There are also many miniature temples in the temple. Opposite the temple are statues of Garuda, dating from the tenth century.
Going up to the top of the high temple, you can see the beautiful views of Durbar Square, as well as communicate with the locals.
