Pashupatinath Temple, Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu, Central Region, Nepal
Description:
The temple complex of Pashupatinath (Pashupatinath), founded in the 13th century, is located 5 kilometers east of Kathmandu on the banks of the sacred river Baghmati. Here is one of the most important temples of Shiva, known as the Golden Temple, which gathers pilgrims from all over Nepal and India.
Next to this temple is the Guheshwari temple dedicated to the Mother Goddess. In Pashupatinath, “sadhu” gathers – wandering worshipers of Shiva. It is always crowded, especially on religious holidays. Pashupati is one of the incarnations of Shiva as the patron saint of animals. In this form, he acts as the patron saint of Nepal, so special importance is attached to the festival in honor of Shiva and the king of Nepal takes part in it. Only Hindus are allowed into the temple. Tourists are not allowed to enter the temple, they are only allowed to approach the gate.
