Kathmandu

From Mardi to Annapurna

Description:

Through the jungle to the top.

The unique tour includes a still unexplored route to Mardi Himala Camp and one of the most popular routes in Nepal, Annapurna Main Camp (ABC).

This track is for those who in a short time - two weeks, would like to be a participant in a rich journey and get a lot of amazing impressions. It will take more effort and endurance than the classic Annapurna track (we have such a journey as Dawn at the Foot of Annapurna). But it is worth seeing the unique places of the Himalayas with their unique views. Unlike ABC, almost every day there are beautiful observation platforms and amazing landscapes. If you like dynamism, changing paintings and colors, then this is a journey for you.

Day 1. Arriving in Kathmandu, gathering all participants.

Group gathering in Kathmandu. Anyone who can get there early is a great opportunity to buy missing equipment. On this day, the main thing is to prepare all the required documents for a trip to Annapurna National Park. But first - accommodation in a hotel, acquaintance with the group. Immerse yourself in the life of Tamel – the tourist district of Kathmandu, with its frenzied traffic and bustle. We will try to relax at local restaurants.

Day 2. Take the route. Australian base camp.

Early departure. We will go to the village of Kande, and we have 5-6 hours to go. At the stops you can admire nature, have a snack, relax. Then about 2 hours walk to the Australian camp. From this point there is a wonderful view of Machapuccara. Climbing Machapucchara is forbidden in Nepal, it is sacred, and its name in translation sounds like “fish tail”. No one has ever been able to climb this mountain. Whether the weather will allow us to see a magnificent view of the entire track at sunset, we will find out on our journey.

Day 3. Start of the pedestrian part of the journey. Badldhara.

The third day is the start of a full walking trekking. Our ascent will continue in the jungle zone. Among orchids, lianas and century-old oaks. The forest shelter will be our home. And lunch is in Deurali. It offers a chic view of Annapurna South and the eight-thousandth Dhaulagiri, if the clouds do not close the whole show.

In the morning, after leaving the camp, we will move along forest paths and reach the Lower camp, where we will have lunch and rest. The body needs to be given time for acclimatization, because the height gained is a certain load. The higher, the more often there are beautiful observation platforms on the way with views of the peaks of snow peaks. The target for today is little Badldhara. “Hill in the Clouds” is the name translated from Nepalese. Two small guesthouses will welcome us, and if you continue to go higher, you will see a gorge that will lead us to the base camp of Annapurna.

Day 4. Mardi Himal Upper Camp.

It is possible that when traveling you will love early climbs as they guarantee excellent views. We will walk along the mountain ridge, and views of the far green valleys will open to us from both sides of the path. Ahead will be attracted by the snow peaks and the sacred mountain Machapuccare. Words cannot tell what breathtaking pictures we will see. Against the background of Machapuccare, Mardi Himal gradually looms. This is the base camp of this mountain.

Day 5. Mardi Himal Base Camp.

Having reached the upper camp, we leave things here and lightly, taking water and a snack, move higher. Our minimum goal is to overcome the height of 4100 meters. This is necessary for two reasons: at this altitude, the most delightful species, and we need acclimatization for good health. In the evening we will have a wonderful show: enjoy an amazing sunset, when the sky kisses the mountains. We'll spend the night in Upper Camp, almost in the clouds.

Day 6. Descent to Landruc.

A day of comfort and rest. We descend the crest and return to the jungle from the alpine meadows. The lower, the stronger the anticipation of the bliss of civilization - warmth, the Internet, a hot shower. On such a long descent, it is important to be vigilant about your knees. You need to use a special walking technique, which we will teach you in practice. To the next point of the route - Landruk, we will get about 16-17 p.m. There will be time for washing or doing nothing.

Day 7. Chomrong Step Day. We sleep in Lower Sinuv.

Having had a wonderful rest in Landruk, we will begin the long transition to Lower Sinuwa. Today nature will meet us with large waterfalls, suspension bridges and steps. Attention, guard your knees! It is appropriate to listen and apply the recommendations of the guide, go at an even pace. In the parking lots, we will be surrounded by amazing elegant green hills, because of which snow-white peaks seem to peep. We will stop to rest and drink tea more often. Happiness! In Chomronga, where we pass the main part of the stairs, you can enjoy baking. It's a nice surprise again tonight. Dinner in Lower Sinuv will have a picturesque view of the foothills.

Day 8. From Sinuwa to Deurali. Waterfall Day.

On the way to the village of Deurali, which is located at an altitude of 3200 m, we will treat fatigue with healing tea and stops in associated villages. A little more and we're in the finish line. Our movement is brightened by beautiful waterfalls and a noticeable change in the landscapes of nature due to the change in altitude. We have already passed acclimatization, as we were at altitude 4100 and have no problems moving on.

Day 9. Annapurna Base Camp.

From Deurali, we're moving through MAF to ABC. At first, the trail winds along a mountainous turbulent river, whose primary source is located near the majestic glaciers. From a narrow gorge we get into a huge stone bowl, which is created by the tops of six-, seven- and eight-thousanders. We'll stop at MVS for an hour. We'll have lunch and up and down again. Arriving in ABC, we will admire the first eight-thousander man who conquered. This is Queen Annapurna. When Maurice Erzog conquered the mountain, imagine he couldn’t find it at all. I'll tell you this story on the track around Annapurna. There is a memorial to the legendary climber Anatoly Bukreev in the base camp and we will visit it. With the permission of the weather and the availability of time, be sure to go to the giant glacier, which begins with the slopes of Annapurna South.

Day 10. Dawn at the foot of Annapurna. Descent to Bamba.

A long day worth starting with magic - a gentle dawn ray on top of an eight-thousand-strong mountain. To do this, you need to get up early, about 5:20 in the morning. During the morning dawn, you can sometimes see avalanches on steep slopes, especially if there was snow in the evening. After a delightful performance, we have breakfast planned. Collections and a journey back to the starting point, lasting two and a half days. It’s good that we’re going down most of the time. To comfort, warmth, oxygen and oases of greenery. After the mountains, all these simple things take on new meaning. The purpose of the day is Bambu.

Day 11. Swimming and resting in the hot springs of Gina.

From Bambu to Gina. This village is famous for its sights - hot springs. The sooner we get there, the more time will be left for swimming in large stone baths with different water temperatures. Hot springs will give the body relaxation and rest, after the cold of the base camp, it will perfectly renew our strength. Some daredevils can jump into shallow water into a mountain river that is noisy and bubbling nearby. Hooray again, do you remember Chomrong with his steps? Repeat this foot training on the way back.

Day 12. Holiday in Pokhara, Lake Fewa.

The nearest transport from Gina is another 1 hour on foot. And Pokhara is close to another hour on the transport. In Pokhara, we will stay in a comfortable hotel with all the benefits of civilization: clean towels and a hot shower. Another pleasure is shopping. There are so many shops here that even the biggest shopping enthusiast will be happy. Many restaurants will also please those who like to eat delicious. Several attractions of this city are worth our attention - Lake Feva, a walk along the promenade and boating, and you can also visit the temple on the island.

Day 13. Reserve day for unforeseen situations.

Reserve Day for Unpredicted Situations. If all is well, then this day we will safely reach Kathmandu.

Day 14. Kathmandu. End of the journey.

On this day before leaving, you feel sad for Nepal, as it is rare for anyone not to fall in love with this magical country. We're going back to Kathmandu today if we needed a day of reserve. With this, our busy and beautiful journey has come to an end, but we will believe and wait, because you will definitely come again!
