The program of trekking to Everest through Lake Gokyo

Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu. The expedition members arrive at Tribhuvan Airport in Nepal. Half an hour before landing, from the windows of the plane you can see the beautiful green valley of Kathmandu surrounded by snow-covered Himalayan peaks. We promise that the first thing you will hear when you land in the land of the Buddha is Namaste, which means “In your face I salute God.” Nepalis are an incredibly cheerful and hospitable nation. The visa can be obtained directly at the airport by filling out a short online form in advance. Our representative will meet you in the arrival area and take you to the hotel. In the evening - acquaintance with the guide, the rest of the expedition and a short briefing of the briefing. Hotel night.

Day 2. Flight to Lukla (2860 meters) and trekking to Pakding (2610 meters). On the second day in a small plane, the group leaves Kathmandu for Lukla. The flight takes about 45 minutes. The airport in Lukla has the shortest runway in the world - only 527 meters, from one end of the cliff, going into a seven-hundred-meter abyss, and from the other the foot of a four-thousandth ridge. Pilots here are real aces, performing several flights a day! In Lukla, we will distribute the luggage to the porters (you should reserve in advance - please let us know if you need a porter), have a snack and go to Packing. The path is scenic, and quite laborious in the physical sense - basically the trail goes down to Padding. Night in the loggia.

Day 3. Trekking to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters). Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will go trekking to Namche Bazar. The path goes up and down. We will cross the Dudhkoshi River several times over traditional suspension bridges, including the most famous of them – the Hillary Bridge (named after the climber to Everest). From the village of Benkar, an amazing view of the Tamserku Mountains (6608 meters) will open on the way. After about 1.5 km we will be in Monjo, here we will get passes to Sagarmatha National Park. After that, passing over the suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River, the village of Jorsal - the last settlement in front of Namche Bazar, we will find ourselves on a winding trail that offers amazing views of Everest, the peaks of Kwangde and Lhotse, as well as a close view of Tawache Peak. There will be enough cafes along the way where we can stop for lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we will arrive in Namche Bazar, a real Himalayan city, which is also called the “Gateway to Everest”. Here we are waiting for a very comfortable loggia with a shower in the rooms, on the terrace of which we can enjoy the sunset over the Himalayas, and in the evening go to one of the bars of Namche Bazar or buy the necessary things for trekking. Night in the loggia.

Day 4. Day of rest in Namche Bazar (3400 meters). On this day, members of the group can visit the Everest View Hotel, where you can admire the panorama with a cup of coffee. Believe me, this will be the most unforgettable coffee in your life, the highest peak of the Earth is visible in the palm of your hand! It is also recommended to walk around the local shops and market, which is especially lively on Saturdays or visit the Sherpa Museum. This is a great place to get acquainted with the history of mountaineering and the culture of the people. Night in the loggia.

Day 5. Trekking in Pangboche, 5-6 hours (3928 m). Night in the loggia.

Day 6. Trekking in Feric (4240 meters). The trail passes over the abyss along hinged bridges, over the “boiling” streams among the huge white boulders. The village itself is very picturesque, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It is known for the fact that the Central Seasonal Hospital is located here, where they provide assistance to injured climbers and climbers if their evacuation to Kathmandu is impossible, or damage is minor. Night in the loggia.

Day 7. Trekking in Lobuche (4940 meters). Ascent to the plateau, on which with a slight ascent we will approach the moraine of the Khumbu glacier. Here is a famous memorial at an altitude of 4808 meters, between the villages of Dougla and Lobuce. It is located at the highest point of the pass and includes several dozen commemorative plaques and chortens (small stone monuments) in memory of all the fallen climbers, sherpas and porters. We will hear stories from the lives of Scott Fisher, Babu Chiri Sherpa and others, as well as traditionally hang flags and honor the memory of those who were taken by the mountains. Night in the loggia.

Day 8. Trekking in Gorak Shep (5164 meters). From Lobuche, the group makes a two-hour transition along a winding rocky path to Gorak Shepa, which offers beautiful views of the mountains of Kala Patara, Pumori, Nuptse and the Gorak Shep valley. Then the group is accommodated in a hotel (by the way, according to some reports, this is the highest mountain hotel in the world), takes a break for tea, and then visit the Everest base camp (5,364 meters). Return to Gorak Shep (5164 meters). Night in the loggia.

Day 9. Climb to the top of Kala Patar (5645 m). The rise is quite difficult due to the rarefied air. In the “hot” season, this road is quite crowded and lively. Many people travel to Nepal just to see Mount Everest and the Khumbu Glacier. From here there is a great view of Mount Pumori. The climb to the top of Kala Patara from Gorak Shep takes about two to two and a half hours. Depending on the condition of the group, the weather (the guide decides) you can climb Kala Patar at sunrise, which is to see how the first sunlight illuminates the slopes of Everest! The group then goes for an overnight stay in Jongle (4830 metres). Night in the loggia.

Day 10. The route today takes us up through the Cho La Pass, which offers incredible panoramic views at an altitude of 5420 meters! The climb is steep and the trail can be loose with large boulders along the way. This is perhaps the most difficult part of the whole route. After overcoming the pass, we descend to Gokyo (4750 meters). It is the world’s highest system of freshwater lakes and land for migratory birds. In autumn, lakes with emerald water are surrounded by green shores, but already framed by bright red shrubs. Night in the loggia.

Day 11. Today we will climb the peak of Gokyo Ri (5357 meters), which will offer views of four of the fourteen main peaks of the world, more than 8000 meters high, as well as the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier of Nepal. Then we go to the village of Dole, where we spend the night. The track leads us along the contour paths of a steep, bouldered valley. Night in the loggia.

Day 12. Our trekking in Namche (3,440 meters) takes us along a very beautiful part of the route of Everest Base Camp and along the way we pass through several picturesque mountain villages. The road back does not involve climbing, so it will be quite spicy and easy. Night in the loggia.

Day 13. Trekking to Lukla. We will follow a familiar route, the same as on 2 and 3 days. By strengthening our muscles over so many days of trekking, as well as descending into more oxygen-rich air, we will feel the power of Olympic champions. We are spending the night in Lukla (2,860 meters), preparing for tomorrow’s flight to Kathmandu. Night in the loggia.

Day 14. Return to Kathmandu, where the already familiar hotel greets us with hot baths and plush towels. In the evening, we will experience the adventures of the last two weeks. Those who still have energy can explore Tamel a bit, perhaps take a tuk-tuk ride around the area and buy souvenirs for their families. Night at the hotel.

Day 15. Airport transfer. Departure from Kathmandu.
