Abu Dhabi to introduce new ‘creative visa’
A long-term “creative visa” for professionals who are willing to “contribute to the cultural and creative industries of the UAE capital” Abu Dhabi.
The emirate's Department of Culture and Tourism said the document was open to "a wide range of talented people."
They must work in key areas in all areas of the cultural and creative industries, including heritage, performing arts, fine arts, design and crafts, gaming and esports, media and publishing.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Head of the Department, said: Abu Dhabi is committed not only to developing creative talent within our borders, but also to expanding our resources to innovators from the region and around the world. This mutually beneficial system will attract innovative ideas and creativity in Abu Dhabi, as Creative Visa will offer participants access to world-class facilities and infrastructure, as well as an attractive, safe and inspiring environment to live and work for individuals and families.
Protecting the cultural and creative sectors will be a priority for DCT Abu Dhabi, he said, and the introduction of the visa is one of the globally significant projects "that we launch with constant speed and flexibility." The Emirate’s media, entertainment, literary and publishing sector is dynamic and growing rapidly.
