Association of Tour Operators of Russia urges colleagues to restore international outbound tourism
ATOR, an association of leading tour operators of the Russian Federation, appealed to the World Tourism Organization at the UN (UNWTO) and to tourist associations of Europe and Asia with proposals for the restoration of international outbound tourism.
ATOR urges the world tourism community to recognize the fact that the virus has remained with people for a long time, and not to wait for the end of the pandemic, but to begin the restoration of mutual trips, to develop common rules and standards.
All professional associations in the field of tourism are now extremely important to strengthen cooperation to develop measures to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and the main focus of joint work should be the development of safe travel rules.
At the same time, the decisions taken should not become a significant financial burden for states, tourism organizations and, of course, tourists, they should be feasible and take into account the rights of citizens to move, both within their country and around the world.
ATOR is convinced that everyone should be able to travel freely around the world.
One of the important solutions for restarting ATOR international tourism is the mutual recognition of vaccines.
" . Tourism should not be dependent on political and economic decisions related to the place of production and manufacturers of vaccines, and people who have received adequate doses of vaccination should be able to travel freely.”
ATOR, expressing the opinion of the largest tour operator business in Russia, asks to include in the list of activities of UNWTO the issue of unification of rules of entry for different categories of tourists, introduction and mutual recognition of Safe Travel standards and ensuring the possibility for people who have the COVID-19 vaccination approved in their countries to freely travel to foreign countries.
