Bali to open ‘green zones’ for foreign visitors

Three “green areas” for the reception of foreigners on the resort island of Bali designated local authorities.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster named the most popular resorts of the island - Ubud, Sanur, Nusa Dua, where foreign tourists will be allowed.

According to the governor, the creation of green spaces is part of a broader strategy of “safe travel on Covid-19”, and the initiative will be implemented with the cooperation and approval of the Minister of Health of Indonesia and the Minister of Tourism and the Creative Economy.

The Green Zones will be a Covid-free green corridor. All local residents and foreign businessmen in Ubud, Sanura and Nusa Dua are expected to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by the time it opens.

It is planned that 50,000 residents of Ubud, 60,000 residents of Nusa Dua and 27,000 residents of Sanur will be vaccinated against the virus. The vaccination campaign will cover all residents of officially selected villages and sub-districts.
