The future of auto tourism in Russia: the state Duma is preparing the law for consideration
The State Duma is preparing to consider a law on autotourism, which will adapt roads that are in demand among travelers - for example, the M4 Don or the Golden Ring routes - to the request of tourists.
On the tracks will open motels, campsites, cafes, other facilities necessary for long trips. Their work will be regulated by standards.
The pilot will be launched in 13 regions. The Association of Tour Operators of Russia supports the initiative. ATOR Vice President Dmitry Gorin said that in some regions the number of motorists in 2020 was up to 75% of the tourist flow.
Sergey Krivonosov, author of the initiative, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs: For a family of three or four people, traveling by car is 30-40% cheaper than by train or plane. This creates a precondition for an increase in the share of autotourism.”

In some regions, such as the Krasnodar Territory, which received about 9 million tourists during the season, about 65-70% of the total flow came by personal transport.

It is important to build campsites - the method of accommodation is popular among motorists. You can spend the night on average for 500 rubles, using the necessary amenities.
The bill proposes to classify campsites according to the level of services provided. In this way, a person will have a choice.
The bill notes that the status of part of the roads will have to be reviewed.
To make the country attractive for foreign tourists, the document proposes to introduce an electronic queue on the routes of international road communication. The traveler will be able to sign up and cross the border at the allotted time - this practice is common in the world.
Pilot regions where autotourism will develop: Vladimir, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Moscow, Novgorod, Rostov, Tver, Tula, Yaroslavl regions, Krasnodar Territory.
