What has changed for tourists in Vietnam since July 1: entry rules

Good news for travelers: Vietnam Do not introduce mandatory medical declarations for tourists!

On July 1, Decree No. 165/2026/ND-CP came into force, and because of this, rumors circulated online that every tourist is now required to fill out a medical declaration. But the Ministry of Health of Vietnam clarified everything in advance: this is not true.

What it really is: the declaration is a “Plan B” in case of emergency in health care. It can be temporarily introduced only if there is a real threat of infection and by the decision of the Minister. Now there is no threat, so there will be no additional papers and checks at the airports.
