How do Russians feel about the quality of service in domestic resorts?
During the New Year holidays, Russians who vacationed in Russia often complained about the low level of service and poor infrastructure.
The monitoring center “Security 2.0” of the Russian Peace Foundation (RFM) following the results of the hotline for the protection of tourists’ rights reported: “More than 61% of complaints of Russian tourists on these holidays related to the low level of service and quality of infrastructure at domestic resorts.” In second place – about 19% – transport issues related to flight delays. On the third – 14% – complaints related to anticove restrictions and non-compliance by other vacationers with anti-epidemic safety measures: mask regime and social distance.
Among other problems, the Russians pointed to inflated prices and difficulties with refunds for canceled tours.
Since the end of December, the hotline of the center received 27% more complaints than in the winter of 2021.
Messages to the hotline come from the most popular Russian winter ski resorts Sochi and the Caucasus, resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, Moscow and St. Petersburg. In fourth and fifth place are Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod.”
