Which tourist destination will be a priority in Russia?

The Association notes that now the program has several priority types of tourism: cultural, cognitive, active, health, cruise, environmental. We propose to supplement this list with the direction of gastronomic tourism.

 

The Association is confident that the development of gastronomic tourism with the support of unique regional products will support and motivate the interest of travelers to the Russian holiday, and believe that gastronomic tourism will be the engine of the development of domestic and inbound tourism in Russia.

 

An example is the pilot program "Taste of Astrakhan", it is supported by regional authorities, tourist operators and territorial production.

 

In order to integrate with the global market of tourism services, the association offered the post of gastronomic ambassador of Russia to a number of world celebrities who appreciate Russian cuisine. At the research stage, a list of gastrobrands is being compiled for consideration by UNESCO with a view to including them in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.”

 

The Association proposes to add gastrotourism to the strategy of tourism development in the Russian Federation until 2035 and to approve the methodology of definitions of gastronomic tourism and gastronomic specialty (brand) at the federal level.

 

The authors of the initiative believe that in an era of international tension, the potential of gastrotourism will open Russia to foreign guests from new positions.
