More than 80% of Russian tourists prefer a beach holiday in summer
Representatives of the travel industry say that the third stage of the tourist cashback program played a role, when Russians could receive compensation for part of the cost of tours in Russia. In 2019, only 1% of Russians went on excursion tours around the country, this year 9% of tourists chose this type of holiday.
Short tours of four to five days are required. The most popular travel destinations, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), included St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Karelia, the cities of the Golden Ring, Altai, Tatarstan, excursions to Dagestan, Baikal and Sakhalin thanks to charters launched there.
Tour operators arrange travel to the most popular destinations based on preferences: the trip should be relatively short and tiresome due to long journeys, but you need a rich program and an affordable price.
The average check of excursions generally depends on the direction, filling programs and hotels that tourists choose to stay. Usually offered economy, medium level and high price segment, say representatives of the travel industry.
