Cyprus opens to tourists

On April 1, the authorities of the island officially confirmed their opening to tourist markets from 65 countries, including Russia. Cyprus also announced a new protocol that regulates entry into the country.

Arriving tourists will not be required to self-isolate, but will be required to provide one or two negative PCR tests depending on country categorization. Cyprus applies the European classification of countries into green, orange and red groups, but is available to all. Russia is still located in the red. Now it has moved 15 countries, including the three largest tourist markets of Cyprus - the UK, Russia, Israel.

Tourists from the "red" group can enter Cyprus by presenting two negative PCR tests - one must be done at least 72 hours before departure, and the second - for a fee - at the airport on arrival.

Cyprus will notify the Russian authorities that it is open to Russian tourists, said Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios. He added that flights to Cyprus are expected to grow from 160 flights a week in April to more than 500 in June, including due to Russian capacities.
