The resort fee will be canceled in Abkhazia from January 1, 2023 - the relevant bill was adopted on June 22 by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic in the first reading.
The representative of the President of Abkhazia in the Parliament Natella Lomia noted at the discussion of the document that "at the moment, tourists staying in Abkhazia for more than three days are charged a resort fee in the amount of 30 rubles." The administration of this fee is more expensive than the collection itself.”
In 2021, 5.6 million rubles were received from the resort fee, and in 2022 at the end of May - 736 thousand rubles.
Deputies voted for the adoption of this bill in the first reading and are ready to adopt it in the final at the next meeting after revision.
