The resort fee: signed the law on the extension of the experiment

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law No. 489-FZ dated 05.12.2022 “On Amendments to the Federal Law On Conducting an Experiment on the Development of Resort Infrastructure in the Republic of Crimea, Altai Territory, Krasnodar Territory and Stavropol Territory.”

The term of the experiment on collecting the resort fee was extended until January 1, 2025.

New participants in the project were St. Petersburg and the federal territory Sirius (in Sochi).

The size of the collection is set by the regions participating in the experiment. Krasnodar Territory - 50 rubles a day in the city district of Sochi, 30 rubles a day - in other municipalities; in the Stavropol Territory (Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk, Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk) - 50 rubles a day; in the Altai Territory (Belokurikha) - 50 rubles a day.

The amount of the resort fee in the federal territory of Sirius (from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022) is 30 rubles per day.

As of early December, the regions participating in this tax experiment did not announce plans to revise the resort tax rate for 2023. It can be assumed that the existing regulations will be maintained.

The experiment includes Crimea, but the resort fee on the peninsula is not charged to tourists, despite the presence of the relevant law.

In St. Petersburg, they said that they would not rush to implement the mechanism.
