Rosa Khutor, Gazprom and Krasnoy Polyana are awarded international Safe Travels certificates
Deputy head of Sochi Inna Petukhova said that the city joined Safe Travels in 2021 and became the first Russian resort to participate in the safe travel program.
" Joining the program is voluntary and is aimed at the speedy restoration of the tourism industry, increasing its attractiveness for tourists.
By the beginning of the winter tourist season, 40 Sochi hotels and 8 beach areas received Safe Travels certificates. In the future, Sochi plans to expand the program not only to accommodation facilities, but also to the entire hospitality industry, including beaches, tourist facilities, catering enterprises.
The World Travel and Tourism Council launched Safe Travels in 2020. This is the first global travel safety initiative in the wake of the coronavirus. The program is a universal international standards – security protocols for various types of facilities of the hospitality industry: accommodation facilities, restaurants, museums and display facilities.
79 countries have already joined the Safe Travels program.
