Popular science tourism in Russia: development concept developed
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation adopted the concept of popular science tourism development until 2035.
Popular science tourism is temporary departures (travels) of Russians from their permanent place of residence for cognitive, professional, business and other purposes, which pass along pre-approved routes with visits to the infrastructure of organizations associated with scientific, innovative, educational educational activities.
10 tours of popular science tourism are already available for travel. "... in the Kaluga, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Amur, Irkutsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions and the Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the city of Dubna, Moscow and St. Petersburg."
The concept was developed in pursuance of the action plan for the development of popular science tourism in the country, which was approved by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Valery Falkov, Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia: The development of popular science tourism will contribute to the involvement of young people in the research environment, and from school years. Children of different ages will be able to visit unique laboratories, high-tech, city-forming enterprises, meet with like-minded people at mass youth scientific events - and all this in different parts of our big country.
The initiative to develop popular science tourism is one of the directions of the decade of science and technology announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
