Why have UAE hotels launched summer discounts?
In United Arab Emirates Hotels began to offer significant discounts on accommodation in the summer. This measure is temporary and is due to several factors.
Traditionally, during the hot months, the flow of tourists to the Emirates decreases, and hotels use discounts as a tool to maintain load. However, this year the situation was more complicated: the dynamics of the tourist flow was seriously influenced by the events of spring. Among the key reasons for the drop in demand, the expert called the aggravation of the conflict in the Middle East, restrictions on air traffic, as well as the restriction on the sale of tours to the UAE that was in effect in Russia until June - in aggregate, this led to a significant lag in indicators from planned values.
According to Tanciura, the current special offers are an attempt by hotels to compensate for losses incurred in March and April, and attract travelers during the seasonal downturn. At the same time, we are not talking about the revision of the general pricing policy: discounts are a temporary promotion.
The expert predicts that from October to November, when the business season begins, hotels will return to the usual level of prices. During this period, the demand will be formed at the expense of tourists from all over the world, not only from Russia. She also noted that the practice of summer discounts in the Emirates has been used for many years and remains one of the standard tools for managing loads in low season.
