Travel to Turkey is cheaper by a quarter compared to 2019

Hoteliers in Turkey in August lowered prices to the level of June last year, thanks to this ticket can be bought 20-25% lower than a year ago.

This was announced by the director of the tour operator TUI Russia Taras Demura.

In terms of prices in Turkish hotels, the situation is very good, despite the fact that 40 percent of the hotel base has opened. Prices are now somewhere at the level of June last year, that is, the discount from the usual prices in August in hotels of all categories is 20-25 percent. We have an average price tag for tours last year was 650-700 dollars, this year - 550-600.

According to Demura’s forecast, 1.2-1.3 million Russians will visit Turkey this year, of which his company will bring about 350-400 thousand. Charter programs, providing a massive flow of tourists, will continue until November.

We see that as soon as the opening of Turkey was announced, there was a sharp surge of interest in the first two weeks, some deferred demand. Then a slight decline occurred when the more cautious part of tourists began to wait for the planes to fly. After August 10, when the first charters flew, we see a rise again. Now we have everything sold out before the end of the month, there are few more places for the last week of August.

Taras Demura said that the depth of sales in 2020 is minimal, and a third of the total sales are rebooking of those who purchased vouchers earlier, and two thirds are new tourists.

On August 10, Russia opened flights with Turkish resorts. Regular and charter flights resumed from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don to Antalya, Dalaman and Bodrum. According to the Turkish authorities, in the first three days after the opening, almost 65,000 Russians went to the resorts.
