Russians do not need to take COVID tests when returning from Abkhazia and South Ossetia
From May 1, all Russian citizens visiting Abkhazia and South Ossetia will no longer need to undergo double coronavirus testing when returning to Russia.
Rospotrebnadzor of the Russian Federation reports that “there is a government decision last year on this issue, and there are no obstacles, no changes, not planned, will not.” And the doubt that suddenly arose some time ago was surprising, but we quickly clarified that there is no change here: crossing this border does not entail any mandatory testing.”
As explained to “Interfax” in Rospotrebnadzor, from April 15 in respect of Russian tourists coming from these republics, there was a requirement to pass the PCR test for COVID-19. From May 1, it is no longer valid.
Popova stressed that when crossing the border necessarily measure the temperature, but “if a person three or twice a day crosses the border, it does not mean that every time he should be tested, not at all.” “Everything here remains as before,” she said.
On April 20, Rospotrebnadzor published a decision according to which Russians coming from abroad, from May 1, must undergo double testing for coronavirus.
