Russians will be able to travel to China without visas next week
Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Nikita Kondratiev said that Russian groups of tourists will be able to travel to Russia next week. China under a visa-free agreement.
The first group of 23 tourists from the Chinese city of Xi'an earlier on Thursday arrived in Russia under the mechanism of group visa-free exchanges, which was launched on August 1, 2023.
“All procedures at the national level for launching such visits have been completed. I am sure that next week Russian groups will also be able to travel to China under the group visa-free mechanism. We have received confirmation from the Chinese side that they are ready to start receiving Russian tourists.
The Ministry of Economic Development added that together with the regional coordination bodies and the tourism business, the department created all the associated infrastructure to launch the agreement.
"With an increase in tourist flow, the Ministry of Economic Development will promptly respond to business requests, including an increase in the number of flights," the ministry said.
