PCT announces stabilization of domestic tourism situation
The volume of domestic tourist traffic this year will be higher, the situation will normalize. This was stated by the Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Yuri Barzykin.
Thanks to the initiative of Rostourism to launch 12 programs of charter transportation in Russia, the cost of tours will decrease by 40-50% (this will affect such destinations as Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Kaliningrad region, Baikal).
Of course, most Russians will go to the Black Sea resorts, but diversification of tourist products around the country is very good. The volume of domestic tourist traffic this year will be significantly higher, despite the pandemic, the situation is normalizing.”
Due to the increase in domestic transportation, airfare prices will also be lower.
For example, a week before departure, tickets to Sochi for an adult and two children can now be found for 5-6 thousand rubles, this is a good price. It was 30 percent cheaper. And in Kaliningrad, I saw a week-long tour from Moscow for 23 thousand – it is inexpensive, the expert added.
He called for the private sector to be considered as a place of residence, which is not always worse than four-to-five-star hotels.
This year, airlines have requested two to three times more domestic flights compared to 2019. Especially popular were the resorts of the Black Sea, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
The main factor in the flow growth is restrictions on international flights due to coronavirus infection.
