How much money do Russians plan to spend on New Year’s travel?
More than a third of Russians (36%) plan to travel during the New Year holidays, 93% of them will go on trips to Russia, and 7% – abroad.
The most popular destinations for New Year travel are the Urals, the Golden Ring, St. Petersburg. MoscowNorth Caucasus and resorts of Krasnodar region. Those who are going abroad will mainly go to the CIS countries. Thailand. China and Georgia.
38% of respondents plan to spend on a trip to the New Year no more than 30 thousand rubles per person, 36% – from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, 18% – from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles. 8% are ready to spend more than 100 thousand rubles on the trip.
At the same time, 77% note that the cost of holidays during the New Year holidays has increased over the past year. 26% of them believe that it has increased by 30%, 16% by 20%, and 3% by 10%. The remaining 32% believe the value has increased by 40% or more.
As for the format of recreation, more than half of Russians (56%) prefer to walk around the city and visit attractions on New Year trips. 22% plan active rest - snowmobile tours, hiking and skiing activities, and 11% - relaxing in nature.
43% of Russians will spend four to five days on the trip, another 28% – two to three days, and every fifth (21%) will travel for a week.
33% of our compatriots will definitely not go anywhere and will stay at home due to the high cost of travel. 18% prefer to relax at other times of the year, and 17% like to be at home during the New Year holidays.
