The period of stay of foreigners in Russia on an electronic visa may increase
The period of stay of foreigners in the Russian Federation on a single electronic visa can be increased from 16 to 30 days.
Yuri Gorbatyuk, Deputy Head of the Foreigners’ Entry Department at the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said: This possibility can be discussed when we have sufficient experience and necessary data on the law enforcement practice of this visa. If there are no obstacles, no one is going to limit himself to 16 days.”
About 8.5% of foreigners have received multiple-entry tourist visas to enter the Russian Federation since their introduction.
The procedure for issuing an electronic visa was approved in November 2020. A feature of the category is a simplified procedure for obtaining - it does not require invitations, hotel reservations or other documents confirming the purpose of the trip. The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of receipt, but you can stay on it in Russia for no more than 16 days.
