Thailand has not extended the 45-day visa-free regime for Russians

Thailand has not extended the 45-day visa-free regime for Russians, effective from March 31, 2022 to March 31, 2023. The period of visa-free stay becomes the same – 30 days.

The lack of visa exemptions will upset “removers” and “relocants”, experts say. But classic tourists will not notice the changes.

A representative of the tourism industry of Thailand said that “... the government of Thailand has resigned. Only a few departments will operate until the new elections, scheduled for mid-May. There is no one and no time to sign the renewal documents. In May, after new parliamentary elections, the authorities may return to this issue. And then the Russians may again be available extended bezviz”.

Tour operators, commenting on the return to the previous visa standards, said that this fact will somewhat sadden only tourists – “remote” and “relocants”.

As for Russians who come to Thailand for tourism, they will not even notice the change, as they come to Thailand for an average of 10 to 14 days.
