Coronavirus test in Turkey: who and where should take it?

Among the tourists who fly to Turkey from Russia and return to Russia from vacation, there are those who need to pass the PCR test for COVID-19 not in Russia, but before departure.

Citizens of Russia who were on a trip or on vacation in Turkey do not need to take a test for COVID-19 in Turkey: you should pass a PCR test for coronavirus on arrival: upload the result to the portal of public services in a special form three days (72 hours) from the moment of arrival. For non-compliance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, a citizen may face an administrative fine.

Among those flying to Turkey from Russia, there are people who need to pass the COVID-19 PCR test in Turkey before departure.

Foreigners with a residence permit in the Russian Federation according to the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor need to get a negative test result for COVID-19 before flying to Russia. Without a residence permit and other document confirming permanent residence, a foreigner (with a number of exceptions) will not be allowed on the flight.

On flights from Turkey to the Russian Federation, in addition to Russians, Turkish citizens and foreigners with a residence permit in the Russian Federation can fly, as well as citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons living in the territory of "separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions" (the so-called LPR and DPR).

These categories of tourists must get a negative test result for COVID-19 before flying to Russia. Without this, the airline may refuse to land.

PCR test for COVID-19 should be taken no earlier than 72 hours before arrival in Russia. It is recommended to take the test no earlier than 36 hours before departure from Turkey (in case of postponement and delay of the flight).

The first option is to take the test in one of the clinics accredited by the Ministry of Health of Turkey. The COVID-19 PCR test costs 250 Turkish liras (about 2,500 rubles). The Ministry of Health of Turkey emphasizes that this is the upper marginal price. The result of the text in English is printed from the website enabiz.gov.

In the absence of information about the test results on the test site, those wishing to fly to Russia will not be allowed on the flight.

The second way for tourists flying to Russia and who need the test result before boarding is to pass the COVID-19 PCR test in a special center in one of the airports of Turkey.

There are PCR testing centers in Istanbul (Istanbul and Sabiha Gokcen airports), in Izmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Trabzon; at Kapykule road and pedestrian checkpoints (the border of Turkey and Bulgaria) and Sarp (the border of Turkey and Georgia).

Under the new regulations in force during the pandemic, those with passports and air tickets are allowed to enter Turkish airports. Important: priority queue depending on the time of departure is not. Test results are ready in an average of 4 hours.

Turkish health officials say the ideal option for tourists who want to get tested for COVID-19 at the airport is to arrive at the testing center 5-6 hours before departure.

Those who need a guaranteed result and peace of mind can come to the airport the day before departure, take the test, and before departure get the result in the test center.

If the test for COVID-19 in a tourist is positive, an ambulance is called - doctors decide whether the patient will be treated in hospital or sent to quarantine.
