The ski resort "Arkhyz" in Karachay-Cherkessia on the opening day of the eighth winter season on November 28 was visited by 2,500 people - five times more than in 2019.
Information was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
For skiers and snowboarders, two ski slopes on the southern slope are ready - "blue" and "green" in the tourist village of Romantic.
The remaining southern slopes and the northern slope will open during December and are now 30-70% complete. In total, this is 25.5 km of trails of all difficulty categories equipped with a snowmaking system.”
Tourists have access to evening skiing, a school of instructors, rental of ski and snowboard equipment, paragliding flights, excursions on snowmobiles.
In the winter of 2020-2021, new cable cars will be launched on Arkhyz. The first - in the village of Lunar Polyana - for beginners. The second is at the top of the northern slope. The fourth stage will extend the Northern Lights cable car to a height of 2,840 m.
The power system will also be significantly updated, a free shuttle to the village of Arkhyz will be launched, the Flybusteam service for non-stop transfer from the airport, a tubing center, a snowpark and a skating rink will be opened. The system for the sale of ski passes has also been improved: tourists can buy tickets for cable cars online and replenish personal cards.”
