The threat of a terrorist attack forced the traveler to surrender his ticket – the money returned
In May 2016, a woman from Vladimir bought a tour to Tunisia, but changed her mind to go on a trip due to the turbulent situation in the country. The woman found a warning about a possible threat of a terrorist act on the Rostourism website.
Afraid to rest in Tunisia, the Russian went to a travel agency, where she bought a ticket, and asked to return her 77 thousand rubles contributed for the tour. The request was not granted, citing the fact that all funds have already been spent.
The traveler appealed to the court, and it was found that the consumer by law had the right to refuse a trip because of the troubled situation in the country, and the actual costs of the travel agency amounted to only 2752 RUB - this amount was deducted from the woman's claim, the rest she managed to return.
The travel agency was fined 37 thousand RUB for refusing to return the money voluntarily. The plaintiff was compensated 20 thousand rubles spent on the services of a lawyer.
