Maltese authorities ready to pay tourists
The island of Malta is ready to pay every visitor. The income of the state depends on the income of the tourism sector.
To receive money, you need to fulfill two conditions: stay on the island for at least three days and book a room directly in the hotel you like.
Guests of five-star hotels will receive 200 euros, guests of four-star hotels – 150 euros, and three-star hotels – 100 euros.
Rates are increased by 10% if visitors prefer a holiday on the island of Gozo (part of the Maltese archipelago).
“The scheme aims to put Malta’s hotels in a very competitive position as international tourism resumes,” Malta’s Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo explained. The agency expects most anticove restrictions to be lifted by June 1.
