St Sylvester's Day
Description:
On December 31st, everyone rushes to get up early: whoever gets up last gets the nickname "Sylvester" and has to pay a fine.
In the old days, girls tried to be especially diligent and do all their work before sunset, so that in the coming year they would necessarily get married.
