Flower festival
Description:
On the day of the holiday, all houses, fences, cars are decorated with bouquets and garlands of live flowers. Processions with figures of animals and heroes of folk tales are moving along the streets.
In the cities there is a very beautiful parade of mobile installations of flowers. Amsterdam’s famous flower parade is the largest flower festival on the planet. More precisely, it is called Aalsmeer Parade - after the name of the suburb of the Dutch capital, where the famous flower exchange is located.
On this day, along the 2.5 km long road leading from the suburbs to the capital, cars and wagons decorated with flowers move. In the parade "take part" more than one and a half million flowers: chrysanthemums and lilies, freesia and roses - a variety of varieties and colors.
This fragrant procession ends in the centre of Amsterdam, where the concert begins immediately. The procession moves through the city during the day. Large flower companies (there are hundreds of them in Holland) show fantasies, decorating mobile platforms or cars with flowers. It's amazing.
