Amsterdam

Alternative Amsterdam

Description:

During this tour you will get acquainted with the wild and unbridled sister of the Museum Square, with the NDSM shipyard. Once, in the glorious days of the East India Company, not far from this place, sailboats were produced, plowing the seas and oceans of the not yet fully open world, then this place became a shipyard, closed in the 80s of the last century. Now it is a unique, hooligan and creative space, which continues to be called the NDSM shipyard. Free character, post-industrial buildings and creative atmosphere form the scenery for the meeting of culture, self-organization and urban development.

This tour is designed for guests with a creative approach to the terrain, addressing the “you” with a camera and enjoying space and light. These two values are hard to measure, you have to feel them.

What you'll see here:

At one of the piers behind the Central Station, we will take a small ferry, which is free by the way, and proceed to the northern part of Amsterdam. In 15 minutes of “swimming”, you will have a good look at the Shell Tower with Europe’s highest swings, where you can swing at a 100-meter height while enjoying breathtaking views of Amsterdam, and the Cinematography Museum with a spectacular line of the building itself. When you dock, you will immediately immerse yourself in the atmosphere of creativity, you will see a pair of old dishes legendary for the history of Holland, take stunning photos of graffiti and walk around the City of Art. If you are lucky with dates, then there will be either the largest flea market in Europe (July 27-28, August 17-18, September 7-8 and 21-22, October 5-6 and 26-27, November 23-24, December 14-15, etc.) or some other event.

For a snack in this looking glass there are a couple of cafes and restaurants with breathtaking views of the city, restaurant Loetje is a concept familiar to every Dutchman, and means a good steak.
