Amsterdam

Amsterdam can't be much

Description:

This tour is about Amsterdam – the city of contrasts. Sorry for the common seat... But with this catchphrase from The Diamond Arm, I would like to title my tour, combining an introduction to the oldest part of Amsterdam and an urban perspective of the future. During this walk you will see the love of the Dutch for tradition and an alternative culture of the future with boundless innovation. And perhaps we shall come together to the conclusion that the one follows from the other, and without the first the latter is impossible.

First, we will walk through the oldest part of the city, stand on Dam Square, go to the secret courtyard, preserved since the 13th century, drink juniper vodka, eat it with a Volendam herring, touch the tulip bulbs at the Flower Market, take a picture in Rembrandt Square, admire the Amstel River, talk about Rembrandt and modern design, remember Peter the Great at the old Weight, go around the Old Church, pre-heated in the Red Light District. And then you say to me, guide, do these Dutch have anything new? And then we'll take the ferry across Ey Bay (15 minutes) to recognize a completely different face of Amsterdam. Contrast guaranteed.

On the north side, on the territory of the former NDSM shipyard, a completely different wind blows, literally and figuratively. There we will look at the graffiti, admire the outlines of the old city, surprise the hotel on the tap, if lucky with dates, visit the largest flea market in Europe (see the dates of market days in advance on the IJ-hallen website) and ventilate on the terrace of the cafe with the most beautiful views of Amsterdam. If you wake up hungry, you can eat at one of the NDSM restaurants. Restaurant Loetje knows every Dutchman, as it prepares the best steak in the country.
