Excursion to Ghent and Bruges: Magnificent Flanders
Description:
Ghent and Bruges are two cities that made Flanders famous all over the world. Two eternal rivals in the struggle to be called the most beautiful city in Belgium. I suggest that you go on a journey with me and decide for yourself who is right. You may not be able to choose between them: They're so different! And every city is beautiful in its own way.
Our trip will be very exciting! You will know:
Why do both cities claim the Golden Dragon?
Who is the Beer King, and how did the devil help him make the first beer in Flanders?
What does raspberry ringing have to do with Flanders and the Beer King in particular?
How one emperor punished Bruges and another Ghent
Why the Knight Gerard was called the Devil and much more.
We will compare the magnificent town halls of Bruges and Ghent, the watch towers of the two cities and ancient churches. Admire the white swans on the Bruges canals and marvel at the huge castle right in the center of Ghent. If you wish, consider the famous Ghent altar and reveal hidden meanings in it.
In the break between excursions, we will restore strength in a cozy and original restaurant. Enjoy the famous Belgian beer and delicious Flemish cuisine.
See you on the tour!
