Enkhausen - 5 hours walk through the Dutch village-museum in the open air
Description:
The museum was conceived in 1932 when the Afsluitdijk dam separated Zuiderzee (South Sea) from Noordzee (North Sea), resulting in two artificial lakes: Ijsselmeer and Markermeer. Salt water changed to fresh water, fishing in the region almost stopped, fishing villages began to come to desolation.
At this time, they decided to preserve the culture and life of the fishing village by organizing an open-air museum. Household items for the museum were collected under the motto: "For you it is garbage, but for us it can become a museum exhibit."
Here you can taste freshly cooked smoked fish.
