Ghent: City of the Golden Dragon

Description:

I suggest you go on a trip to the city, over which the Golden Dragon hovers - its symbol.

Ghent is a diamond of medieval architecture and art. This is a city in the middle of which you can find a fortified ancient castle (the only one in Belgium!), a house with figures dancing in the wind, medieval churches and a white-stone tower, as from a fairy tale. This is a city, world-famous Ghent altar of the 15th century, which is kept like the apple of an eye in the city cathedral. It is a city with stunning views of the three main city towers and the ancient city harbor. At the same time, Ghent seems so old years and such a young spirit: where goods were unloaded from ships for centuries, now many students sit and bask in the sun. So walking around the city, you can suddenly find a city castle or street, all covered with interesting graffiti.

But Ghent is not just architecture. These are wayward residents, funny traditions, beautiful (sometimes terrible) legends and the first Belgian “air” waffles. It's a city of daredevils and rebels. This city of students. This is Golden Dragon City.

The tour can be supplemented by a visit to a medieval castle, a visit to the city from the water on a tourist boat, and also spend time shopping.

I recommend to try local waffles, as well as relax in the oldest "brown cafe" Ghent: it has been working without interruption since 1228!
