History, mills, cheese and smoked eel

The proposed trip consists of 4 parts:

Act 1. Petr's house.

Not far from Amsterdam is the town of Zandam (or Zaardam, as it was called in the time of Peter). It is very interesting for us, because the history of the Russian state began there! It was there that Peter the Great lived in the small house of the craftsman during his trip to Europe as part of the Grand Embassy. The house is preserved and receives visitors. And when I go there, I always get goosebumps from the realization of this fact.

Act 2. Zaanse Schanse

If we talk about the preservation of traditions, it should be done in Zaans Schans, a village where more than ten mills and other structures of the 17th and 18th centuries are collected. Residential houses are still residential, mills are still grinding, crafts are thriving, and shops are trading. The atmosphere is so pleasantly relaxed that only one kind of mill already makes you feel on vacation. We will visit one mill to choose from (a unique mill where pigments for paints are made using 17th century technology or a sawmill).

Zaans Schans is also the most beautiful and largest museum of wooden shoes, where you can see how they are made.

Diamond lovers also have a place to turn. In one of the huts there is a diamond store, which sells jewelry with diamonds Royal Lady unique cut (268 faces!)

Act 3. volendam

A town that surprises not only visitors, but also the Dutch with its traditions! In the beginning, we will stop at a cheese farm, where you can safely touch and taste everything, as well as buy as much cheese as you need! Then we will look into the Labyrinth - the oldest part of Volendam, go to the hotel with a wonderful history, walk along the boulevard and can take pictures in national Volendam costumes.

Act 4. Eel smoker

The day wouldn’t have ended so well if we hadn’t gone to the best smokehouse in the Netherlands! Hot smoked eel defies description, it just melts in your mouth!

You can see all these charms in one day, we will move in my car. If you are traveling in a group of more than 3 people, you will need to order the appropriate transport.
