Many people come just for him. And I understand them very well. For in this museum traces the thread of the creative life of genius from a painful birth to a tragic end, from the still dark "Potato Eaters" through the radiant branches of blossoming almonds to crows breathing loneliness over a wheat field.
What an amazing time Van Gogh lived! 2nd half of the 19th century. Everything changes! Photography appears, paint in tubes, artists experiment with color, light and themes! It is a whole galaxy of geniuses who inspire each other and interact with each other. Van Gogh cannot be confused with anyone. He is alone, lonely, poor, smelly, uncompromising, mad, possessed genius. How did he become Van Gogh in such a short time? Why did he end his life so early? Did he do it?
