In the footsteps of the Orange
Description:
Have you seen Amsterdam yet? If you are interested in the history of the Netherlands, then the next logical step in getting acquainted with it is a tour of the cities of Delft and The Hague.
I'll pick you up by car from your hotel, and we'll go first to Delft, nice and cozy, and then to the stylish Hague. These two cities are the unwritten capitals of the country, the first due to the fact that there was the residence of the stadtholder William of Orange in the 16th century, and the second due to the fact that the government, ministries and departments, as well as the residence of the king are now there. In general, there are some problems with the central government in the Netherlands: the name of the country is two options, the capital of the country is two options, the name of The Hague is two options, in general, dualism is literally everything. During the tour we will talk about it, and at the same time we will see in Delft:
Market Square and the New Church, which houses the royal tomb, the Old Church and the Weight Building;
In The Hague:
Binnenhof and the building of the Knights Hall are the most ancient buildings of the city and the political center of the country, the Prime Minister's Tower, the Mauritshuis Museum, the Nordeinde Palace, then stop at the Peace Palace and finish our excursion by the sea in Scheveningen.
On the way we will eat and rest. We can finish our trip in a delicious fish restaurant in Scheveningen or in a cafe with sea views, if you wish.
The tour can be complemented by a visit to the museum of miniatures of Madeurodam, where the whole of Holland is in the palm of your hand (a favorite toy of our former queen’s youth) (an additional 40 euros).
