I propose to take a trip together to a few centuries ago: to the medieval Flemish city of Bruges. Like a time machine, we will be transported to the time when we built castles, built watchtowers, held knightly tournaments and burned witches at the stake. At that time, when they loved to the last breath, the enemy did not know mercy in battles, and revenge was exquisite and eternal. At the time when the rich first discovered the brilliance of diamonds, men measured the length of the toe of a shoe, and women – the height of headgear. At a time when for the sake of their rights and freedoms, the citizens could capture even the king. The history of this city would be enough for many novels! And the scenery is still the same...
But what is a journey into a medieval fairy tale without legends – sometimes funny and sometimes scary? Want to know what Bruges has to do with the Holy Grail, how swans can punish the whole city, how the first beer appeared and why you should not be tempted by suspiciously tasty cakes? I will tell you about all this and many other things during the tour. And delicious Belgian waffles and beer brewed at an ancient brewery will make our tour truly unforgettable!
The tour includes visits to the main sights of Bruges:
- Basilica of Holy Blood (Upper and Lower Churches)
- Town Hall
- Ruins of an ancient cathedral
- Church of Our Lady (there is also a statue of Our Lady by Michelangelo)
- Monastery courtyard (beginage)
- Beguine church
If you wish, during the tour you can relax in the old restaurant, which offers its customers 400 varieties of Belgian beer and delicious Flemish cuisine.
The tour can be perfectly complemented by a boat ride along the canals or in a carriage along the narrow streets of Bruges. You can also repeat the feat of the heroes of the film “Lie down in Bruges”: climb the watchtower Belfort (366 steps!).
