The Hague – the residence of the king and government of the Netherlands

In the Binnenhof palace complex, the most beautiful building is the Knights Hall (1280), where the king annually opens the next session of parliament on the third Tuesday of September. In the same complex, part of the premises are reserved for the halls in which the Upper House of the States General meets.

There is also a modern building of the Second House of Parliament with a facade overlooking the square where government offices are located.

Nearby is the Mauritshuis Museum and the King's Reception.

Madeurodam - Holland in miniature

The miniature park of Madeurodam is located near Scheveningen - here you can see all the most unique things in Holland, collected in one place. Canal houses, tulip fields, cheese markets, windmills, Peace Palace, flood protection system – you will find them all in Madeurodam.

Scheveningen

One of the districts of The Hague, located on the coast of the North Sea. The first mention of the present Scheveningen dates back to 1357. In the Middle Ages there was a small fishing village. Probably, the impetus for its development was the foundation of the Counts of Holland Prinsenhof Castle in The Hague.

During its long history, Scheveningen was repeatedly subjected to destructive storm surges that claimed lives and sometimes caused significant damage to the settlement. Currently, Scheveningen is not only a holiday on the sea, parks and fresh air, but also a rich cultural and historical heritage and a lot of entertainment.
