De Har Castle
Description:
The most picturesque and romantic castle of the Netherlands - De Har!
He is beautiful, but still homely. Why? Yes, because it is not only a museum, but also a "dacha" (but only very large) descendants of Baron Etienne and Baroness Helen. This connection between the family and the castle gives the whole history a certain progression, as if the history of the castle is not yet over, but continues. The descendants of the baron and baroness no longer speak Dutch, but I often see ridden bicycles at the door of their rooms. We can still hear their stories about who visited them.
What kind of family lived there! It did not skimp on the latest achievements of technology, which made the castle extremely comfortable, nor on the most unique objects of antiquity and art. And going into the kitchen of the castle, it seems that everything is about to move again, and the smell of exquisite dishes will begin to tickle your sense of smell. It is a pity that the incomparable French chef Pierre Amaury will no longer be able to fulfill our wishes.
The living atmosphere is also created due to the fact that it is still possible to rent rooms for events there. What do you say about a wedding in the knights' hall or a masquerade party in the ballroom? How about renting the whole castle for the evening?
But let's start with a tour. A little more than half an hour from Amsterdam (or any other place convenient for you) and we are in the castle. A tour of the castle can always be complemented by a walk in the park, and even more interesting to go to a real fort located nearby (see excursion to the Fort on the river Fecht "Excursion for real men") and finish this busy day with dinner in a restaurant in Utrecht - a city famous for its majestic cathedral.
It should also be noted that it is interesting to visit the castle during events held during the Christmas holidays; in April, when elves and other evil spirits come to life there; in May, if you are fans of Italian cuisine.
