Kakenhof Park

Stationsweg 166-A, 2161 AM Lisse

Description:

Flower Park, one of the most beautiful and colorful places in Europe. Opened in 1949, today the park covers an area of 32 hectares. More than 7 million flowers grow in its gardens. Tulips alone are more than 100 species. And then there are daffodils, roses, orchids, hyacinths. More than 30 gardeners and designers work on the design of flower beds.

All flower glades are located between centuries-old trees and picturesque natural ponds, waterfalls, canals, fountains and small bridges. Bronze statuettes and sculptures of famous masters of different eras, installed along the alleys, fit well into the surrounding nature of the park.

Once a year, in April, there is a parade of flowers - the most grandiose show in Europe. Preparations for it begin in November, when the theme of the parade is chosen. Then, mobile platforms are prepared, on which a variety of floral compositions are installed.
