Foam Photography Museum
Keizersgracht 609, 1017 DS Amsterdam
About the company:
Opened only 11 years ago, the FOAM Museum of Photography is perhaps one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant museums – the steps at the entrance are always full of students of creative specialties who come here for informal communication and exchange of ideas.
FOAM is not a dry museum space, but an airy structure, modern design and a slightly diffuse atmosphere. It hosts exhibitions of classics and young photographers, regular open lectures, discussions and symposiums with the participation of prominent Dutch and foreign masters. The permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions of the museum cover all genres of photography: from independent, documentary and applied to historical and modern. Therefore, anyone who is interested in this type of art should visit here.
The museum periodically hosts dance evenings, there is a library and a bookstore. The museum also publishes its own magazine, Foam Magazine.
