Van Gogh Museum
About the company:
One of the most famous museums in Amsterdam, dedicated to the life and work of the great impressionist artist, whose talent was appreciated only years after his death.
The museum houses just over 200 paintings by Van Gogh, including such famous paintings as “Sunflowers” and “The Artist’s Bedroom in Arles”, as well as sketches, letters and paintings by other impressionist artists, friends of Vincent. The exhibition is organized in chronological order. Van Gogh’s work is divided into five stages: early works, Paris, Arles, Saint-Remy and Auvers.
The museum is located in a specially built building. The main building was designed by Gerrit Rietveld and opened in 1973. The architect of the exhibition wing was Kiso Kurokawa. Its construction was completed in 1999.
